We finally got a few solid glimpses of the sun this week and honestly, the whole city felt lighter because of it. I also stopped by the Downtown Projects Expo and came away genuinely excited about some of the ideas and development projects being planned around Anchorage. On top of that, Anchorage Distillery officially launched their first bourbon after two years in the making.

Anchorage’s annual celebration of cycling returns with treat stations, group rides, and plenty of ways to join in throughout the day. The Women’s Adventure Film Tour returns to the Bear Tooth with a lineup of short films centered on courage, connection, and pushing beyond personal limits. From Antarctica to mountain trails and ocean waves, the night highlights inspiring stories of women pursuing adventure in all kinds of ways. Tickets.

The Anchorage Farmers Market returns for opening day with local produce, baked goods, plant starts, herbs, hanging baskets, and more. It’s one of the clearest signs that summer is getting closer and always a good excuse to wander around downtown on a Saturday morning. More Info.
🌮 Taste of Spenard — Koot’s (Sun, 12PM)
One of Anchorage’s most unique neighborhoods takes over the Koot’s parking lot with local food, live music, vendors, and plenty of Spenard energy. Expect signature bites from local businesses, food trucks, a beer garden, and a mix of artists, makers, and community booths throughout the afternoon. Event Info.

🐳 Matson Ocean Education Center — Opening Soon
A new ocean education center is opening at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, focused on Cook Inlet beluga whales and Alaska’s marine ecosystem.
The space will include a life-size beluga skeleton, underwater listening station, interpretive exhibits, and viewing opportunities overlooking Turnagain Arm.
