Hey Anchorage 👋

Last week brought freezing rain and one of those moments on De Armoun Road that reminds you winter still deserves your full attention. I also ended up sick for a few days, which meant watching a busy Anchorage weekend unfold from my couch.

Seasoned storytellers take the stage to share true, personal stories told live and without notes. This edition explores the idea of the American Dream, where it holds up, where it cracks, and what happens when it collides with real life. Funny, moving, and deeply human.

🧀 Charcuterie Workshop — Double Shovel (Thu, 7PM)
A hands-on charcuterie workshop where guests create a 10” heart-shaped board for two using curated cheeses, meats, and themed accompaniments. Includes chocolate-covered strawberries, one drink from the bar, pairing tips, and entertaining ideas. All skill levels welcome. 21+.

🎣 Ice Fishing Jamboree — Jewel Lake (Sat, 10AM)
A free, all-ages day on the ice with drilled fishing holes, limited gear to borrow, hot chocolate, food vendors, door prizes, and appearances by the 2026 Rondy Royalty and Rondy Bear. No experience needed, just show up and give ice fishing a try.

⛷️ Ski 4 Kids — Kincaid Park (Sat, 1:30PM)
A free, family-friendly winter event supporting youth access to cross-country skiing. Kids can participate in activities, ski short courses, and enjoy a festive afternoon outdoors. Donations help fund ski equipment and programs for local schools and youth organizations.
