Last week was one of those weeks where I didn't get out and explore as much as I would have liked. Instead, I spent a lot of time working on The Anchorage Local and a few projects at home.

You'll notice a couple changes in this week's edition. The full event list has moved to an online calendar page with new category filters. You’ll find a link to the calendar later in the newsletter. This makes room for a more curated newsletter and new sections, like Community Raffle.

🌈 Anchorage Pride Parade & Festival — Delaney Park (Sat, 11:00 AM)
One of Anchorage's largest community celebrations returns Saturday with a parade, live performances, food trucks, vendors, and a full day in Delaney Park. This year's theme is Pulse of Pride: A Decade United, celebrating ten years of Anchorage Pride.

✈️ Fly By Festival — Alaska Aviation Museum (Sat, 10:00 AM)
Alaska's aviation community comes together this Saturday at the Alaska Aviation Museum. Expect live music, food trucks, family activities, and a series of low-level fly-bys throughout the day as the museum celebrates the role aviation plays in connecting Alaska.

🚲 Alaska Mountain Bike Festival — Hilltop Ski Area (Sat, 11:00 AM)
Hilltop's annual Alaska Mountain Bike Festival returns this Saturday with downhill racing, bike park laps, outdoor vendors, food trucks, and plenty of adventure. Whether you're a serious rider or just curious about the sport, it's one of the best opportunities of the summer to experience Alaska's mountain biking scene.

🏴 Scottish Highland Games — Alaska State Fairgrounds (Sat-Sun)
One of Alaska's most unique summer traditions returns to the Alaska State Fairgrounds this weekend. Expect bagpipes, heavy athletics, Highland dancing, live music, Scottish food and drink, and plenty of opportunities to embrace your inner Scot, whether you have the ancestry or not.

🎶 Live After Five: Hope Social Club — F St. & 6th Ave. (Thu, 5:30 PM)
Anchorage's favorite summer concert series returns Thursday with a block-party edition of Live After Five on F Street. Hope Social Club brings its blend of folk, Americana, and foot-stomping energy to downtown for an evening of free live music.

🚲 Jeff Dusenbury Bike Park — First Look
After years of planning and construction, Anchorage's new Jeff Dusenbury Bike Park is nearing completion at South Anchorage Sports Park.

The community is invited to a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 23 at 5:30 PM to see the new signage, explore the park, and get a first look at what's coming.

👜 Mikal Coy Luxury Collection — Now Open
A new luxury fashion boutique has opened downtown, offering designer handbags, shoes, accessories, and high-end clothing.

Located near Glacier Brewhouse and Orso, it's one of the newest storefronts to join downtown Anchorage.

Rock the Hill is back July 17–18 at Hilltop, and the Anchorage Concert Association gave me two tickets to give away.

Expect local bands, good food and beer, vendors, yoga, and two days on the slopes of Hilltop.
