Weekly Roundup (Mar 31 - Apr 5)
Hey Anchorage 👋
We celebrated Seward’s Day yesterday, a great moment to appreciate the history and people that helped shape Alaska into what it is today. I’ve been catching as many comedy shows as I can during the B4uDie Comedy Festival, and at this point my stomach is starting to ache from laughing so much.
The calendar is packed this week. First Friday highlights culture downtown, Hilltop hosts its closing weekend with the Sink or Skim Pond, and there’s no shortage of shows and events happening across the city.

⭐ Top Picks of the Week
🎨 First Friday — Downtown (Fri, 5PM)
Downtown Anchorage comes alive for First Friday with local art, music, food, and pop-ups across the city. Stop into galleries, explore small businesses, and take advantage of free admission at the Anchorage Museum. Full map available online.
❄️ Sink or Skim Pond — Hilltop Ski Area (Sat, 3PM)
Hilltop’s closing weekend classic is back. Costumed participants attempt to skim across a pond, often with hilarious results. Plenty of people come out just to watch the chaos. The energy stays high with an after-party to close out the season.
🎶 Disney ‘80s–’90s in Concert — Atwood Concert Hall (Fri–Sat)
This live concert brings Disney and Pixar hits from the ‘80s and ‘90s to the stage with Broadway vocalists and full production. Expect songs from classics like The Lion King, Aladdin, Hercules, and more in a high-energy throwback show filled with nostalgia. Buy Tickets
😂 Hari Kondabolu Comedy — Bear Tooth (Fri, 7PM)
B4uDie Comedy Festival headliner Hari Kondabolu takes the stage at Bear Tooth for a night of stand-up. The New York Times has called him “one of the most exciting political comics in stand-up today,” and he’s joined by a lineup of featured comedians for a full evening of laughs. Tickets
