Weekly Roundup (Apr 21-26)
Hey Anchorage 👋
Winter has been struggling to let go this week. Cloudy skies, a bit stormy, and not quite ready to hand things over to spring.
There’s a lot happening around town this week. Slush Cup takes over Alyeska for Spring Carnival, Comic Con fills the Dena’ina Center, and there’s a mix of music, comedy, and events across the city. I also added a new “New In Anchorage” section below featuring a couple new spots, and I’ll be building that out each week. If you know of a new place I should include, send it my way.
Here’s what’s happening around town 👇
⭐ Top Picks of the Week
❄️ Spring Carnival Ft. Slush Cup — Alyeska Resort (Fri–Sun)
Alyeska’s Spring Carnival returns with a weekend of costumes, skiing, live music, and mountain energy. Saturday’s Slush Cup is the main event, where participants attempt to skim across an icy pond, often with memorable results. Expect a vendor village, beer garden, and Alaska-style spring chaos. More Info.
🦸 Arctic Comic Con — Dena’ina Center (Sat–Sun)
Alaska’s premier pop culture convention returns with a weekend of comics, anime, gaming, and more. Meet artists, cosplayers, and special guests, explore themed rooms, and catch panels, tournaments, and live experiences throughout the weekend. Tickets.
🎶 Rebel Music Fest — Williwaw Social (Sat, 3–10PM)
One night, two stages, and a stacked local lineup at Williwaw. Rebel Fest is an all-ages celebration of music, community, and resistance, featuring artists like Quinn Christopherson, Rosie Rush, and Pepper Kit. More than just a concert, it’s a space to show up, connect, and add your voice. Tickets.
😂 Middle Age Comeback Improv Comedy — The Nave (Fri–Sat)
Veteran improvisers return to Anchorage for two nights of fast-paced, fully improvised comedy at The Nave. Each show is completely different, with decades of experience and sharp chemistry driving the performance. Expect a mix of smart, ridiculous, and unpredictable moments throughout the night. Tickets.

That’s the week, Anchorage
Winter’s been hanging on a little longer than expected, but the calendar doesn’t seem to mind. Between Slush Cup in Girdwood, Comic Con downtown, and a full mix of events around the city, there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of it. If you check out one of the spots in the “New In Anchorage” section, let me know what you think.
If you found this helpful, share it with a friend or send it to someone you want to get out and explore Anchorage with.
