Apologies for the late roundup this week. I had company over the weekend and needed to push this back a day. I’ll be back to the regular Tuesday schedule next week.

These longer evenings have me feeling motivated to start moving more. I'm not the only one either. Trails are getting busier, patios are filling up, and businesses around town are shifting into summer mode. Even the wildlife is getting more active. A black bear has been wandering around my neighborhood lately.

🏃 Twilight 12K & 6K — Skinny Raven Sports Downtown (Fri, May 29)

Skinny Raven’s signature Twilight 12K & 6K features one of the most unique race courses in the city, sending runners across the closed A/C Street bridge and along the Coastal Trail with live music along the route.

The evening finishes on the Park Strip with Bear Tooth wraps, Broken Tooth drinks, live music from I Like Robots, and a finish line atmosphere that feels like summer in Anchorage.

🎪 3 Rings Circus — Sullivan Arena (Sat–Sun)
A modern circus experience takes over the Sullivan Arena with aerial performers, acrobats, motorcycle high-wire acts, comedy, and nonstop entertainment across three stages. Featuring the Valencia Bros. “Dueling Wheels of Death,” this one leans fully into spectacle and over-the-top thrills. Tickets.

🌿 Alaska Public Gardens Day — Alaska Botanical Garden (Sat, 10AM)
The Alaska Botanical Garden celebrates Alaska Public Gardens Day with admission by donation, guided wildflower trail tours, and plenty of spring color throughout the gardens. The Alaska Rock Garden Society will also be onsite selling hardy plants suited for Alaska gardens. More Info.

😂 Scared Scriptless Comedy — The Nave (Sat, 8PM)
Competitive improv comedy night at The Nave with audience-driven chaos and unexpected moments. Performers battle it out in a “Micetro” style competition, all leading up to crowning the “Best Improviser in Anchorage.” A great pick for a fun night out in Spenard. Tickets.

🌊 Vinci Parfum — Now Open
An Alaska-based fragrance brand creating water-based perfumes made with sustainably sourced glacier water from Southcentral Alaska.

🍻 King Street Brewing — New Menu
King Street Brewing just rolled out a refreshed food menu, bringing several favorite specials into the permanent lineup alongside a few new additions.

New items include roasted beet bruschetta, meatballs, a meatball sub, Alaska seafood chowder, The Salty Goat salad, and fruit crisp.

A good excuse to make another brewery stop this week.

The Wild Scoops ice cream Cone-tainer at 49th State Brewing returns for the summer this Thursday. Open from 12PM-10PM.

The Aerial Tram and Bore Tide Deli & Bar return for the summer season this Friday in Girdwood.
