One of those events is Rock the Hill, returning July 17–18 at Hilltop Ski Area. Enjoy two days of live local music, food trucks, vendors, beer gardens, and mountain biking. It's one of the highlights of Anchorage's summer concert season.

⭐ Top Picks of the Week

Mad Myrna’s Diva Variety Show is a weekly Anchorage nightlife staple with live vocals, comedy, dance, glam, and plenty of big personality. Expect powerhouse performers, campy moments, and a high-energy show that’s anything but average.

🧢 Craft Movie Night: Titanic β€” Bear Tooth Theatrepub (Wed, 6 PM)
Bear Tooth’s Craft Movie Night series pairs a movie with a great excuse to work on your latest project. This week’s pick is Titanic, which makes for a three-hour crafting session. Bring your knitting, crochet, needlepoint, or other project, grab food and drinks, and settle in with the theater lights turned up a bit.

πŸ’‘ Worth Knowing

πŸ“Έ: Mount Marathon Race

Klaire Rhodes of Anchorage won her third straight women’s title at Mount Marathon, finishing the race in 49 minutes and 55 seconds. Klaire is usually focused on much longer trail races, including 50K, 70K, and 100K distances, and she called Mount Marathon her β€œshort fun day.” After trailing near the top, she made her move on the downhill and took home another win in one of Alaska’s most iconic races.

🚧 Road Construction Season Is in Full Swing
More than 100 road construction projects are underway across Alaska, including work on the Seward, Glenn, Parks, Sterling, and Kenai Spur highways. The Alaska Department of Transportation recommends checking 511 Alaska before you go, slowing down in work zones, and giving yourself some buffer time on the way to summer adventures.

🦭 Two Seal Pups Arrive in Seward
Two orphaned harbor seal pups from the Cordova area were flown nearly 300 miles to the Alaska SeaLife Center, where they’re now receiving care.
